Why Recycle?

Did you know that each year over 500 million laser and inkjet printer cartridges are consumed. On average, each laser cartridge contains 2.5 pounds of plastic and one pound of metal, while inkjet cartridges contain a half-pound of plastic. Less than 25% of these cartridges are recycled!

Did you know that on average, three quarts of oil are burned to make each new cartridge? And with the increase in oil prices its no wonder that cartridge prices are going up as well.

Did you know that the plastic used in a typical cartridge is industrial grade and takes approximately 1,000 years to decompose? Talk about a strain on the environment!

You can reduce your carbon footprint by as much as 40% by using remanufactured toner cartridges.

Almost eight cartridges are thrown away per second in the United States. In North America alone, over 350 million cartridges per year are discarded in our landfills, and that number increases by 12 percent annually.

Seventy percent of used printer cartridges throughout the world are currently being thrown out.

In one year, if the world’s discarded cartridges were stacked end-to-end they would circle the earth over three times.
